Penguin Randomhouse Competition 2021

Talking Turkeys - Ed Zephaniah

For the 2021 competition I studied and redesigned the children's entry Talking Turkeys by Ed Zephaniah. For this I wanted my design to be representative as well as being inviting. Spreading the message that we are all the same on the inside.

Penguin Randomhouse Competition 2020

The Night Manager

For the 2020 Penguin book cover competition I chose to redesign the fiction entry The Night Manager by John Le Carre. With this design I focussed on playing on the expense and luxurious side of the story; something that I felt was lacking in the current design but present within the TV series opening titles.

On Display - The Absent Mind

A branding project to create an exhibition to spread awareness of Dementia. Throughout this I haved used metaphorical and symbolic imagery of the subject matter alongside facts and advice to support the cause. Placing this exhibition at The Eden project gives visitors the experience of the physical effects as well as leaning about the mental elements.

The Absent Mind

One of my favourite projects to date - Spreading awareness of Dementia and understanding the effect it has on your mind physically and mentally. This brief was designed completely from scratch and located at The Eden Project so the auidence could experience the effects first hand.

SPHERE: Sports Healing Rehabilitation

This project had a strong focus in infographic design and communicated heavy data. Advertising the benefits that physical health can have on mental health. This projected was designed to invite and encourage anyone to add some physical activity to their routine despite experience, ability or situation. This was done with a focus of advertising the 19 guidelines put in place to help achieve the most positive outcome.

Volunteering at City Hospice

A campaign designed for City Hospice in Cardiff to help encourage people to volunteer. The idea of my design is to play on the sense of community that is brought on from particapating. Doing this I have used cogs as a metephorical form of connection and that each element within the Hospice rely on one another to work.

D&AD Competitions: Key4Life

This brief was set to inspire and give opportunity for youths to avoid getting involved in knife crime. I have based my designs around the idea of a video game, offering the children a sense of choice or chance. Putting the time you would be sentenced as a large comparison to the time spent playing games.
